Privacy Notice for Bridge Improvers

In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulations 2018 (the GDPR), this notice gives details of how and why Bridge Improvers collects, stores and uses the personal data of its bridge students, together with other relevant information listed below.
What personal data does Bridge Improvers collect?
The data we routinely collect includes names, addresses, telephone numbers and email addresses. We collect this data directly from people booking bridge lessons, people who have offered to host and from people who have asked to be kept informed.
What is this personal data used for?
We use the data you supply to communicate information about the bridge course you are booked onto and also to inform you of relevant activities at the club about which you may be interested. If you have offered to host, we use your data to maintain host lists and to communicate information about the bridge course you have offered to host for.
Who is your data shared with?
Your personal data is not passed on by us to any other organisation, whether or not connected with bridge.
Where does this data come from?
Data comes to us from previous contact with Bridge Improvers’ teachers or from you signing up or booking on the Bridge Improvers website.
How is your data stored?
This information is held in the cloud in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Who is responsible for ensuring compliance with the relevant laws and regulations?
Under the GDPR we do not have a statutory requirement to have a Data Protection Officer. The person who is responsible for ensuring that Bridge Improvers discharges its obligations under the GDPR is Shirley Rawlings.
Who has access to your data?
A designated teacher has access to your contact details when you book a module that they will be teaching.
What is the legal basis for collecting this data?
Bridge Improvers collects personal data that is necessary for the administration and delivery of bridge lessons.
For some data, such as that relating to financial matters, the basis for its collection and retention is to comply with our legal obligations.
How can you check what data we have about you?
You can contact us with a “Subject Access Request” if you want to ask us to provide you with any information we hold about you. If you are interested in any particular aspects, specifying them will help us to provide you with what you need quickly and efficiently. We are required to provide this to you within one month.

How long do we keep your data for, and why?
We normally keep host or student data after they have completed a module in case they later wish to host or book. However, we will delete any contact details entirely on request.
