At Bridge Improvers, we provide nine, ten-week modules, with the whole bridge course taught over a period of three years. Relative beginners will usually move through the modules sequentially, but more experienced players may want to pick and choose their modules.
Each module consists of seven taught bridge lessons (one hour of teaching on Zoom and one hour's supervised practice on RealBridge) and three consolidation, hand play sessions to ensure students really understand and can use all the techniques they have covered in lessons.
For complete beginners, we start with an intensive 4-lesson bridge course over a period of 2 weeks.
This takes place in early January. Those who decide to continue can then join the start of Module 1.
The bridge programme used the modern ACOL system of bidding. Aspects of ACOL bidding have changed a lot over the last few years; our teaching at Bridge Improvers will bring you right up to date. Each module consist of ten lessons taught by an experienced bridge teacher and includes sessions to practice and consolidate learning. Students receive comprehensive notes to support each lesson.
Bridge lessons at Bridge Improvers are friendly and relaxed and students are encouraged to ask questions.
Pairs who want to play together are welcome, but it's also fine to just come alone. It is a good opportunity to meet people and to develop new friendships and bridge partnerships.
